So, I’m the Pied Piper. Except, I don’t attract rats or mice (thank goodness!!)… I attract cats.
I can’t take a real step when I’m outside… there’s literally a cat or two or four sitting on my feet/winding around my leg/trying to climb me/licking any skin they can find/etc.
(And yes, I’m wearing shorts outside. With snow on the ground. We have a woodstove… and it gets hot in our house!)
I don’t mind the kitties… especially when they’re this pretty.
But it’s annoying when I’m rushing outside to take advantage of the last of the light… and they won’t leave me alone for five minutes!
I got Justin to call them to the shed with the promise of food… and got this shot. Love the glow from the sun. Literally caught the last of it. The next shot has no glow.

I started wrapping today.
I even wrap everything we put in the kid’s stockings… so there’s a lot of stuff to wrap!
And I blew through a 10 pack of wrapping paper, and had to get more.
Love the snowman. 😀
And he kept bugging me to take his picture with the wrapping paper. I think he’s slightly excited. 😉

One day, a couple weeks ago… she found this in the drawer in the bathroom.
And promptly put it on her head.
“It’s my trown! I a mermaid!” she said.
“It’s your crown?” I replied.
“Yeth! I a mermaid!” she said again.
Being as I had never heard her say “mermaid”, and it wasn’t something I was expecting… I couldn’t figure out what she was saying.
“You’re a what?” I asked.
“I a mermaid!!” she said, with a little more force. 😉
“A… mermaid?” I finally said slowly.
Her face lit up.
“YETH! I a MERMAID!”
And she continues to wear her “mermaid” crown. 😉
I love it in B&W, too.

I rebelled a few years ago, and I refuse to spend Christmas Day in the kitchen making a turkey! So, we do it the week before Christmas. Today was the day. 🙂
And as we were relaxing waiting for everything to cook… Hannah fell asleep.
Yummy! Ready to eat. We had turkey, cranberries, sausage stuffing (which was SO GOOD!), potatoes, squash, parsnips, cauliflower with cheese sauce, pickles and olives. And eggnog to drink. 😀
Where’s Hannah, you ask?
Still asleep. 😉 She slept through all the noise of her siblings enjoying their meal. Don’t worry, we saved her some. 😉
And now the countdown is on for our traditional fondue supper on Christmas Eve! 😀 I think that one is my kids favourite. 🙂

We picked up another baby bull calf today!
Meet Amos.
Amos was three days old when we picked him up, and he’s HUGE! He’s the same size as Sir Loin, who’s three weeks old. Sir Loin is on the left:
Sir Loin has an odd lump on the side of his jaw. We’re not quite sure what it is, but it doesn’t affect his ability to eat or drink, and he’s a happy, energetic little guy. 🙂

I don’t know about you, but I find grey, rainy days very uninspiring.
We’ve been having a lot of those lately. It’s hard to take pictures when everything is grey. And wet.
When Jeff and the oldest kids headed off to karate, Hannah fell asleep, and Michael was enthralled with Planet Sheen.
And I made him turn around so I could take a picture of him.
He did it willingly enough the first time… but after a few seconds he was like “Can I just watch the show??”
I like this one in B&W, too.

For the last few days, Rebekah has put a cheerleader bow (the one I made for their performance at the Rogers Centre in Toronto) in Hannah’s hair.

Some bokeh fun.
Although, half of the lights on my tree are burnt out. 😦 They worked fine when we first plugged it in, but the tree is three years old, and all the “Pre-lit” lights have died. The ones I added are still going, thankfully.
So, since I’m going to have to buy new lights (I *need* lots of lights on my tree, that’s why I add extra!! 😉 I might take this opportunity to go with white lights for a change. I still have tons of colourful ornaments, and a white glow might be nice. 😀

She’s been sick for over two weeks with a stomach flu. 😦 She’ll perk up for a day or two, then have another day of throwing up. Today was a sick day. She’s so pale and pathetic looking… and won’t leave my lap.

Today was my mom’s birthday. My uncle (her brother) and I conspired together to get her a camera. She was thrilled. 😀
We were at the Y for a dance recital. Rebekah learned a lyrical solo in *July*, and hasn’t had a lesson with it since. She performed it tonight, and remembered most of it! I was so proud of her.

It’s December!! That was quick. 2011 has flown by so quickly.
Becky, Michael and Hannah made a snow bear. See the little bear ears on top? 😀
There are tiny yellow flowers STILL in my planter box. In the snow. Don’t know what they are, but I can’t believe they’re still alive!
